Check Out Ringbow Gives More User Control With Mobile Gaming!

Gamers today have immersed themselves in the world of mobile gaming from Angry Birds to Cut The Rope to Doodle Jump, leaving behind the console and button-smashing classics of yesteryear. To navigate these worlds, we’ve become increasingly accustomed to touch control as our primary user interface, but touch gaming isn’t perfect. Saar Shai and Efrat Bari believe they have a solution that can improve our mobile gaming experience, an accessory they call Ringbow.

Ringbow is a Bluetooth device worn on the index finger and operated with the thumb. The device can act as a joystick or mouse or can be used in conjunction with touch controls to add layers of functionality to the gaming experience. For example, imagine using touch to move a tank across the screen of your iPad while simultaneously using the Ringbow to fire at your enemies with the same hand.

Ringbow works natively with the Android and iOS operating systems as well as a variety of existing applications. Shai and Bari hope the controller will be an impetus toward providing gamers with new control features. As a result, they’ve partnered with game developers to produce a package of games just for the Ringbow. The pair has also made their API available so other developers can enhance their own apps for use with the device. The Ringbow developers kit includes Ringbow APIs and plug-ins, technical support, creative guidelines and 24-hour assistance from the Ringbow team.

Shai and Bari have started a Kickstarter campaign to raise $100,000 for manufacturing the device and made the Ringbow available in five colors. For a pledge of $45 or more, backers will receive a the Ringbow, along with Micro-USB cable for charging and a game package.
