Charles Barkley is not shy about telling people they aren’t good at their job. That includes close friends.

Like Michael Jordan.

The TNT analyst was onThe Waddle & Silvy Show in Chicago and said was asked about becoming a general manager.

Barkley figures he can’t be worse than some of the guys currently in the front office.

“…I want that challenge. I am not afraid to fail. Trust me some of these other GM’s suck already,” he said. “I’ll just be in a long line of guys who suck.”

That led to a question about Jordan and his struggling Charlotte Bobcats. Barkley said he has gotten into trouble talking about the poor job the Hall of Famer has done as owner.

“…Let me say this Michael is one of my best friends. I love him like a brother. He’s always been there for me, but I do have to do my job. I do have to do my job. Like I told him I can’t get on radio and TV and say you have done a good job no matter how much I love you. But he was not happy….I would give away all my credibility if I get on air and says he’s done a good job…I’m going to be fair in my opinion….I never had a double standard.”

You can listen to the entire interview and Barkley talking aboutLeBron James, Larry Bird, his summer, the Heat, Thunder, Bulls, Derrick Rose and Dwight Howard. (Thanks to sportsradiointerviews.com for the audio tip)
