A few days ago we reported that Kerry Kennedy (Of the Kennedy family and ex-wife of Governor Cuomo) was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs. It’s looking like Kerry will plead not guilty because of a medical condition. Click below for more information.

Kerry Kennedy plans to plead not guilty to drugged driving Tuesday and is checking with doctors to see if an undiagnosed medical problem caused her Westchester County crash last Friday, a Kennedy source told the Daily News.
“It’s very frightening not to know what led to the accident,” the well-placed source said, insisting that Gov. Cuomo’s ex-wife was not under the influence of drugs when she side-swiped a tractor trailer with her 2008 Lexus SUV and fled.
“The real concern is whether or not some medical condition caused her to get into the accident. She could be hypoglycemic, which causes temporary fainting. Or you can have a temporary seizure. She will be going to see doctors to get to the bottom of this. She’s very concerned.”
Authorities say Kennedy, 52, was driving erratically on Interstate 684 around 8 a.m. Friday when she collided with the truck in the town of North Castle.
She continued driving with damage to her luxury vehicle and a flat tire before pulling off the highway at a nearby exit.
Police found her sitting behind the wheel with no explanation for what happened other than the possibility that she may have accidentally taken the sleeping pill Ambien instead of her thyroid medication, sources said.
She took a voluntary Breathalyzer test that quickly ruled out alcohol. Blood and urine tests at the hospital also came back negative, but police are doing follow-up analysis of her blood sample, sources said.
“Typically with drugs – opiates or marijuana – they would be in the urine. Toxicology and urinalysis from the hospital were clean, so as of this moment, there’s no analysis that indicates any sort of drugs,” the Kennedy source told The News.
“She didn’t remember what happened,” the source continued. “She’s going to be seeing a doctor to see what may be wrong. She’s not delaying taking care of herself and getting to the bottom of this.”
She’s due in North Castle court for arraignment Tuesday and will plead not guilty, the source said.
Asked if Kennedy had a chance to count her Ambien pills to determine whether she had taken one before the fateful Friday crash, the source was unable to comment.
The source also refused to discuss Kennedy’s emotional state and whether the shocking May suicide of her sister-in-law and best friend Mary Kennedy — estranged wife of her brother RFK Jr. — possibly played a role.
The News reported exclusively last week that RFK Jr. had his dead wife’s casket illegally exhumed and moved to another plot in a cemetery near the family’s compound in Cape Cod.
The bizarre transfer, just weeks after Mary Richardson Kennedy was laid to rest in Massachusetts against her family’s wishes, leaves the late spouse alone for eternity in a plot beside an entrance road.
Her family wasn’t notified until after the reburial had taken place.
Originally, she was buried near RFK Jr.’s beloved aunt and uncle, Eunice Kennedy Shriver and Sargent Shriver.
Kerry Kennedy was Mary’s prep school and college roommate. She reflected on her loss in a touching eulogy published on The Huffington Post.
“We were inseparable – we shared friendships, a closet, a cash card,” Kerry Kennedy wrote.
RFK Jr.’s estranged wife hanged herself May 16 in the family’s barn in Bedford, N.Y., amid a contentious divorce.
Kerry endured her own ugly split after a 12-year marriage to Cuomo.
