KATY Perry found out about her split from John Mayer by EMAIL, according to a US report.
The musician is said to have taken the cowardly route after growing “tired of Perry’s hard partying and decided to pull the plugâ€.
A friend told Us Weekly magazine: “He dumped her over email. She was furious and really hurt.
“She was into him, but he wasn’t feeling it.â€
The pair split up last week after just a few weeks of casual dating.
The budding romance was first reported in June when Katy, who had previously admitted to a crush on the rocker, was seen snogging 34-year-old John during an “affectionate” appearance at Soho House in West Hollywood.
Then at a Beverly Hills pool party earlier this month, the pair “were all over each other, making out,” according to one observer.A friend said earlier this month that the Teenage Dream singer was ready to get serious with John.
They said: “She doesn’t want to get her heart broken again, but she feels a real connection and wants to see where things go.”
John has dated a string of stars, including Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Aniston and Taylor Swift, while Katy recently dated Florence + the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd following her divorce from ex-husband Russell Brand.
