Daniel Rigby, 23, of Wigan, England, denies he murdered young Rio Smedley, who died in April.
The boy’s mother, Kirsty Smedley, 24, was slammed for failing to keep her son safe from Rigby.
It was “her duty to protect him from harm,” prosecutor Simon Phillips said, according to Sky News.
Smedley called police on April 22 when she found her son unresponsive at their home in Bolton, England. She told emergency personnel Rio had “fallen down four steps and banged his head,” according to BBC News.
He died later at a hospital from a ruptured liver.
“[Rio died] as a direct consequence of blood loss from a liver injury that had been caused by one or more heavy blows to the abdomen, most likely from one or more punches, kicks, stampings or knee-ings,” Phillips said.
Smedley pled not guilty to allowing or causing the death of a child.
They should fuck that girl up in jail and the boyfriend should get the death chair there is no way 4 stairs did that and who was watching him some one needs to give them 91 injuries a peice a day till they die
The fucking mother couldn’t protect the little angel from being abused , they should take other kids from her and put her in jail to the rest of your life , and they should give the fucking boyfriend a death sentence .
