“The Rocky Mountain High just got a whole lot higher,” plenty are saying. Yes, Colorado and Washington both have Amendment 64 passed in the prohibition era, this past Tuesday night. Many people may be saying that legalization in states isn’t surprising, but are not realizing – it’s not just for medical use. Now, you are able to smoke just as easy as it is for you to drink, just like Amsterdam! Think it’s too good to be true? Read more & check the video below..

Although it is legalized, it may take a couple of months, even as long as a year till adults over 21-years-old can actually start smoking legally. But I assume we shouldn’t be surprised if we see people enjoying their freedom today on the streets.

Colorado Govornor John Hickenlooper, had a few words to say about the passage of A64 in a statement on Tuesday:

The voters have spoken and we have to respect their will. This will be a complicated process, but we intend to follow through. That said, federal law still says marijuana is an illegal drug so don’t break out the Cheetos or gold fish too quickly.

Both ballot measures would legalize recreational cannabis use only for adults 21 and over. Marijuana will remain a controlled substance under federal law, of course.

Tom Angell, spokesperson for Law Enforcement Against Prohibition said:

“To put this into historical context, there is no historical context. It’s the first time any state has ever voted to legalize marijuana — and two of them did it.”

This isn’t the first time Colorado voted on legal weed. They tried once in 2006 and failed, but in 2012, they’re successful.

In my opinion, I hope they implement the laws effectively. I have no problem with people doing what they enjoy, legally – although, I hope this doesn’t make a massive change in our society. Legalize marijuana but show citizens that the world CAN run on it.

Do you think marijuana should be legalized everywhere in America?
