The Philadelphia Eagles have ruled out quarterback Michael Vick and running back LeSean McCoy for Monday night’s game against the Carolina Panthers due to concussions.

Vick, a four-time Pro Bowler, was injured against Dallas on Nov. 11 and missed last week’s loss to Washington and practice this week.

McCoy, an All-Pro last season, was injured in the final minutes of the 31-6 loss to the Redskins and also missed practice.

Coach Andy Reid said Wednesday that both players were still in the early phases of recovery but that Vick was closer to returning.

Nick Foles will start for Vick and rookie Bryce Brown will take McCoy’s spot.
