Can Colbert fans win him an office? I’m not sure but South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley will have the most say. No doubt Colbert has what any politician would want, massive following, control of a Super PAC, and incredible influence outside of the political world. Supporters for Colbert’s Senate Seat have been tweeting at Haley using the tag #SenatorColbert, but I doubt they will have much pull on Gov. Haley who seems to have a firm grasp of what her jobs duties entail. She wrote this message on her Facebook wall addressing the vacancy,“Appointing a new member of the U.S. Senate is a solemn duty, and I take this responsibility with utmost seriousness.”
