What tragic news. SMH. The aunt & uncle of 49ers tight end Delanie Walker were killed in a car accident allegedly by a drunk driver after leaving the Super Bowl. I will NEVER understand how people drink & drive. Our thoughts & prayers go out to Delanie and his family.

The aunt and uncle of San Francisco 49ers tight end Delanie Walker were killed in a car accident involving a suspected drunk driver in Louisiana early Monday morning after they watched their nephew play against the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII.
According to WWL-TV in New Orleans, the two-vehicle accident occurred around 5:30 a.m. Monday on I-10 in St. Charles Parish, La. Police said Nechole Thomas, a 26-year-old Houston resident, was driving “at a high rate of speed” when she smashed into the rear of a vehicle stopped on the shoulder. The two people inside the stopped vehicle — Walker’s aunt and uncle — were found dead by police.
Thomas, who suffered minor injuries in the crash, is facing two counts of vehicular homicide, DWI and reckless operation, according to police.
