17-year-old, De’Marquis Elkins, and another 14-year-old have been arrested for the murder of an infant. Antonio Santiago was sleeping in his stroller when the two teens approached the child’s mother trying to rob her. Once she told the teens that she didn’t have any money, they threatened to hurt her son and when she put her body in front of her son, they shot him in the head. The shooting occurred on Thursday and the boys were arrested on Friday. If this wasn’t tragic enough, the death of Antonio was not the first death that his mother had to endure, she lost her 18-year-old son during a stabbing incident in New Jersey. Read more below.

De’Marquis Elkins is set to be tried as an adult with a first degree murder charge. The 14-year-old has not been identified since he is still a juvenile. It is unknown if the teens have lawyers or if the younger one will be tried as an adult. The duo were found after police searched the area and school records.
