ScHoolboy Q and Juicy J Headline Rolling Loud Festival which will be a top tier one-day “All Day Musical Experience” presented by Dope Entertainment. Pretty much the first of its kind, the hype is justified and the list of participants is legit. Also on the bill are Travi$ Scott, Casey Veggies, Denzel Curry, Domo Genesis, and at least 30 additional groups and solo artists–as ready to pass to the left as they are to tear down the stage!!!
The news that ScHoolboy Q and Juicy J Headline Rolling Loud Festival comes as big step for Miami’s growing music scene–which many have seen grow with an absence of a Hip Hop culture. The famed and noted Winter Music Conference and Ultra Music Festival have been huge staples for the city, but really just for dance music, until now.
“Why is Ultra the only show in Miami with multiple stages, and it’s all EDM?” asks Tariq Cherif, cofounder of Dope Entertainment. “Why don’t we have that for hip-hop?”
True indeed…and now here we have it. Like many of the innovators of Hip Hop culture before them, Tariq Cherif and Dope Entertainment are successfully doing something to make change, set new trends and open doors.
“The Miami scene is huge in my eyes, and somehow, it’s still slept on,” Cherif says. “There’s the obvious Rick Ross and that crew that’s been doing their thing. They get the mainstream recognition, but the fact is that a lot of these underground guys that we’re booking — like Denzel Curry, Pouya, Yung Simmie — these guys can really sell tickets. They have real fan bases and can sell out venues across the country.”
