Chauncey Billups is back in Detroit.  The Pistons brought Billups back on a two-year deal for $2.5 million a year.  Chauncey likes to rock his number 1 jersey, but problem is that Andre Drummond already has it.  So will Andre give it up?!  Find out after the jump…

With Billups returning to Detroit to round out his career, Drummond has made the choice to give up the number, as evidenced by his Twitter account on Tuesday

Billups, while being introduced by the Pistons on Tuesday, had this to say about Drummond’s move at his press conference (via Dave Pemberton):

“Billups on wearing No. 1: “As soon as I said I was going to come back here, young Drummond had tweeted, I’m not on Twitter”

“Billups: “He was easy. He just stepped back and said whatever you want. I’m grateful to have a young player like that.”

“Billups: “I’m a little too old for Twitter, but he had tweeted he would give me the number back. He was just happy I was coming back.”

“Billups: “In my opinion, he should have another number anyway because he’s going to be a great player and one day have his number retired.”
