Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones seems to be the official spokesman of all the NFL owners. People seem to listen when he talks, except of course for when he talks about the Cowboys winning some playoff games, lol. Anyway, it’s been no secret the NFL has been wanting to put a team back in the Los Angeles market, and Jones says the time is now. Hit the jump for more.

It is crazy when you think about it, that the most popular sport in America does not have a team in the second biggest market in the country. Can you imagine the NBA, or MLB without teams in the L.A. area? This week Jones, was talking with Rich Eisen and Michael Irvin about the possible move to L.A.

I think with basis, I feel more imminent about a team being in here, that is it more imminent, than any time since we haven’t had a team in Los Angeles. This market is a huge market. It is a little bit of a black eye for all of us to have had this many years and not had an NFL team in Los Angeles. The owners don’t mess much up; I am saying that with a smile. But we haven’t gotten this one right. There are people, there are locations, there are people that are interested — viable people — that could help us put this thing together. As it turns out, we do have two teams . . . that could move to this area. There won’t be any expansion, so it will be teams that move.”

The two teams he is referring to most likely have to be the Chargers or the Rams. Both teams would not have much trouble moving to L.A. with the current situations they have with their respective stadiums. The Chargers have a buyout clause with Qualcomm stadium that would allow them to move, and the Rams agreement with the owners of the dome where they play their home games, ends after the 2014 season. The NFL has done pretty well without having a team in that area, but it is inevitable that a team eventually calls Los Angeles home again.
