Awwww man!  We knew AI probably wouldn’t land on a team, but it’s about to be official – Allen Iverson is ready to announce his retirement from the NBA.  Next step?  NBA analyst?  That would be dope!

Allen Iverson will announce his retirement in the “coming days,” according to Slam.

Iverson has not appeared in the NBA since the 2009-10 season, playing for the Memphis Grizzlies and Philadelphia 76ers. He also played in Turkey in 2011.

In 14 NBA seasons, Iverson appeared in 11 All-Star Games. He was the 1996-97 Rookie of the Year. He was the 2000-01 NBA MVP. Iverson led the Philadelphia 76ers to the NBA Finals in 2001 where the Lakers won the series, 4-1.
