IFWT Foles x Vick

Though the Philadelphia Eagles lost to the New Orleans Saints on Saturday night ending their postseason, this year was still a vast improvement.  Quarterback Nick Foles took over as starter putting up incredible numbers and pretty much making it clear Michael Vick would not be returning to the starting position.  Initially there were reports that Vick said he didn’t mind playing backup to Foles but I guess that was just for this past season.  A new report says Vick is ready to move on.

With Nick Foles at quarterback, the Eagles made a surprise run at the playoffs — a run that ended on Saturday with a 26-24 loss to the New Orleans Saints in an NFC Wild Card game. The playoff run was enough to secure to job for Foles in 2014.

Vick knows that. And he doesn’t want to come back because of it. When asked if he would come back to Philadelphia next season, Vick simply shook his head no.

“I’m still a starter,” Vick said. “I’m not a backup quarterback.”

Which means unless something drastic changes, Vick’s time in Philadelphia is over.

“This very well could be,” Vick said when asked if this was his last game in an Eagles uniform.
