The injury bug continues to hit the Los Angeles Lakers pretty hard as they’ve lost yet another vital member of their roster, Pau Gasol.
After undergoing an MRI, Gasol will be out at least a week with a groin strain, it could be longer.
Gasol had been complaining of soreness to the area for some time, but has played through it and managed 24 points and nine rebounds in the team’s home loss to the Bobcats on Friday.
Lakers.com reporter Mike Trudell notes that the team has now lost 155 man games due to injury this season. L.A. has lost six straight and is just 3-18 over its last 21 games, only a half-game better than the West’s worst Sacramento Kings.
I know the Lakers say they don’t tank but it might be time to throw in the towel and at least try to make something positive come out of this terrible season. The draft is pretty loaded but locking in a top 5 pick would be ideal.
