Though Michael Vick has been telling the media that Geno Smith is the New York Jets starting quarterback, nobody really believed him. As a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, Vick often said publicly that he’s a starting quarterback and refuses to take a backup role. Well it looks like the real Vick is back with these latest comments.
“I just feel like I can help any football team, any organization, particularly this football team, get to a Super Bowl,” Vick told the New York Daily News on Thursday. “It’s tough at this stage of my career because I still feel like I’m a fairly young player and I can still keep up. People make it seem like I’m getting older and things are not the same. I beg to differ.”
Though it’s been put out that Vick is more of a mentor and someone to push Smith, make no doubt about it, it’s still a competition for the starting spot between both quarterbacks.
