Stephen A. Smith is known for speaking his mind and often saying things that probably don’t bode well for a company with a heavy filter. Well now he will have plenty of freedom.
via NYDN:
Stephen A. Smith will soon leave ESPN-98.7 FM and take his verbal stylings to SXM’s “MDR,” where he will host his own show, according to satellite radio sources. Smith currently co-hosts a 1 p.m.-3 p.m. program with Ryan Ruocco on 98.7.
Smith’s new show will probably air from 1 p.m.-3 p.m., which will put him in direct competition with Ruocco on ESPN 98.7.
The idea of Smith working freestyle in the uncensored world of satellite radio is fascinating. SAS has gone right up to the line, and sometimes crossed it, as he did on Friday on ESPN’s “First Take” when he went on a rant concerning Ray Rice’s two-game suspension and implied some women should be blamed for domestic violence.
How much further will he push it working without a seatbelt on “MDR?”
I applaud stephen a smith for saying what he said.which is so true some times some of us females do provoke our partners sometime.some women do it because they know the man will always be blamed.bottom line is keep your hands and your split to yourselves that goes for male and female.stephe a.smith keep being you cause you can’t please everyone
Thank you. For once someone commented on what he said in the context he said it in…It’s so amazing how ones words can get so twisted and turned around.
He did not blame women, he simply stated that in some altercations the women are not blameless. This is me speaking: for the record not all physical altercations between man and woman is a result of “abuse”. There’s abuse out there. It’s ugly, deadly and rampant, but that does not mean that every situation falls under that category. He messed up in trying to have the conversation at the wrong time and really the wrong setting, for something yet not dealt with in greater society.
Its only sports. im sick and tired of this shit we call freedom of speech u speak your mind and 1 jew complains thats it your fired…..jews kill jesus lets fire them all ….
I don’t think it’s any woman’s fault that a man is provoked by what they’re wearing. It’s all in the eye of the beholder, I say this because if how us men are driven wild by what women wear daily…. when do when get to wear what they like and feel free to do so?
A male privilege driven world we live in, and it sickens me.
I also applaud Stephen A. Smith he was not saying that it is ok for a man to hit a woman by no means. There are some women that do and try provoke a man to hit them or fight them which is ridiculous because you cannot beat a man and on the other hand a man has to know when to walk away a real man will a abuser will not. I hope everything works out for Ray Rice and his wife. Stephen A Smith I am still your fan God Bless.
Really sad the state of today’s media they have nothing to write about so they sensationalize stories such as this where everyone know’s he was not bashing women in any way.
Should he have said:
“Please women beat on men and do whatever you want to them without reprocusions because men are not allowed to react to defend themselves.”
THERE WAS NOT A DAMN THING WRONG WHAT STEPHEN SAID, WOMEN SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE AND ALOT OF WOMEN PROVOKE MEN AND ARE ALSO VERY ABUSIVE. YOU HIT A MAN EXPECT TO GET HIT BACK. PERIOD. JUST BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE DO NOT LIKE WHAT HE SAY SO THE HELL WHAT… FREEDOM OF SPEECH. WOMEN HAVE EQUAL RIGHTS THEN TAKE EQUAL RIGHTS IN EVERYTHING. IF A MAN ABUSE A WOMAN THAT IS THE MAN FAULT, BUT IF A WOMAN ABUSE A MAN THAT IS THE WOMAN FAULT AND SHE SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE.
Steven didn’t say anything wrong. Hell, the so-called victim not only remained with her abuser but married him. In cases such as Ray, it’s all about money. Really. Many women DO NOT walk away from a man if he’s rich, regardless how much abuse takes place. It’s the money and wealth keeping the woman there. She’s not going anywhere because she won’t be able to provide a rich lifestyle for herself.
There’s so much abuse among black couples. Ever since I was a young girl, I witnessed abuse in soooo many households and not just between husband and wife. But in situations involving couples, a large % of blacks, especially women, believe that racism is the reason why black men abuse them. And the men simply agree because it allows them to get away with it. I know it sounds crazy but that’s just te way it is. Black women walk around angry for years and years because a man (or me) beat them up during a relationship/marriage, but she allowed (and accepted) it.
Correction: …because a man (or men) beat …
