When the racist tapes were released of soon-to-be former owner of the Clippers, Donald Sterling, sponsors dropped out quickly.  In a recent hearing however, a judge ruled in favor of Sterling’s wife Shelly, clearing the way for her to complete the sale of the team to former Microsoft CEO, Steve Ballmer.  With a new owner in tow and the controversy behind them, sponsors are reportedly ready to come back.

We spoke to reps for the Chumash Casino who tell us they were following the case closely and are “pleased with the ruling” which will allow Shelly Sterling to sell the team to the former Microsoft CEO.

As a result of the ruling, the Chumash rep says they are now “open to discussing future partnership possibilities with the L.A. Clippers family and its new ownership.”

As we previously reported, the Chumash — along with Carmax, State Farm and a slew of other Clippers sponsors — pulled their deals with the team in the wake of Donald Sterling’s racist comments about black fans.

We spoke to several of the other sponsors — all of which sounded encouraged about the new Clippers ownership, but wouldn’t say if they were planning on getting back into business with the team.
