Ebola Virus scare in Brooklyn

An Ebola scare in Brooklyn was announced as a false alarm on Saturday. See more below!

This Friday a Brooklyn teen was rushed to the hospital with Ebola-like symptoms after returning home from spending time in the Sudan, North Africa. Around 6:30 p.m.the 14-year-old teen was rushed to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY running a high fever. He was quarantined while tests were being run to determine whether they had the Ebola virus.

Authorities announced on Saturday that Ebola had been ruled out. “Ebola was ruled out. There are currently no patients suspected of having Ebola in New York City,” said Levi Fishman, a spokesman for the city Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Officials have not given any other statements in regards to the patients condition.

The Ebola virus is currently centered in West Africa, thousands of miles away from the Sudan.
