NCAA Football: Boston College at Florida State

Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston has gone through a ton of ups and downs in his college career but he is still projected to be one of the top quarterbacks taken in the 2015 NFL Draft.  Though some teams are weary of picking him because of his off-the-field issues, some think his on-the-field success overshadows that.  Recently an NFL veteran at quarterback, one who is no stranger to off-the-field issues himself, Michael Vick, weighed in with his thoughts on Winston, and he happens to see some big things in this young man’s future.

As a matter of fact, Vick went on to call him the future of the business.

“I think he’s a great player. I’ve been around so long, I appreciate guys coming out of college. I look forward to watching him. I have high expectations for him,” Vick said,via nj.com. “I think he, over time, has made some poor decisions. Have I been there to know exactly what happened? No. But I do know one thing: He may make some poor decisions, but he gets on that football field and he plays his (tail) off. Yeah, he can mature. He’ll mature. I see him maturing as time goes on. Like, this year hasn’t been as bad of a year as the first year was for Jameis. I think the kid will continue to improve. I think he’s the future of the NFL.”

When he was coming out of Virginia Tech, Vick was considered the future of the NFL himself with his amazing versatility, however his off-the-field snafus ended up cutting some years off of his career.
