Co-Founder of Fool’s Gold Records Dust La Rock Has Passed Away. Also known as Joshua Prince, Dust was age 38 before he passed.

The New York-based designer/artist was best known as the co-founder of Fool’s Gold Records, along with A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs. From 2007-2012, Dust La Rock served as the creative director for the label, creating some of its most iconic cover art.

Dust La Rock was an incredibly talented creative and visual artist whose skills go largely unparalleled. He made album art for the likes of Action Bronson’s Blue Chips and Danny Brown’s XXX as well as promo art for tours, gigs and events of the label. His designs and pieces were full of bold graphics, striking elements, eye piercing color and messages you could feel literally on sight. He also had his own gallery exhibits, taught and worked with other artists on collaborative projects.

Co-Founder of Fool’s Gold Records Dust La Rock Has Passed Away and A-Trak took to social to announce the news, saying “RIP Dust La Rock. My ace. Lost a brother today…You helped define so much of what I stand for. Love you man. Still can’t believe this.”
