While Far Rockaway native Chinx and former Coke Boy affiliate Yemen were riding on Queens Blvd. this past Sunday morning at about 4AM, the silver Porsche they were in was shot up with a full clip, leaving Chinx dead at the scene. Although Yemen was shot in the back twice, he was able to survive the shooting. He took to his Instagram to post up a series of cryptic messages and videos which makes us scratch our heads and wonder. If you follow the Coke Boys movement, you will know that Yemen is notorious for sipping lean, getting high, and chilling with the CB rappers such as French Montana and Chinx on a regular basis. However, just a few days after the shooting, he kept talking about “fake” people Chinx had around him and even went as far as removing the “Coke Boy” in his Instagram name, changing it to just “Yemen_Time_” now.
The streets have been talking and I’ve been playing detective to the best of my ability. People have been coming at Yemen all types of crazy, accusing him of setting Chinx up or even saying that those bullets were intended for him and not Chinx. People are even saying that the murder had something to do with retaliation for the Max B homicide back in Jersey and/or Stack Bundles’ death almost ten years ago. Being that Max’s birthday is today (May 21st,) it could possibly make sense if people are seeking payback and want to see Max suffer. I’ve even heard people trying to accuse French of setting Chinx up. They’re saying French got Chinx murdered to give Max B that spot when (and IF) he gets out of prison, along with a bunch of other ridiculous accusations that I find extremely hard to believe.
On the flip side, those who are siding with Yemen are saying he removed the “Coke Boys” from his Instagram name because he knows someone in the CB camp is responsible for setting Chinx up, which is also possible but still hard to imagine. Personally, I went to the scene to pay my respects to Chinx and the whole entire area is FILLED with cameras. There is literally no possible way that the cops are saying they have no leads because that is absolutely ridiculous and not believable. I’m no cop but I’m pretty sure I could have found camera evidence with at LEAST a license plate number or something by now. It’s a 4-way intersection with tons of businesses including a Dunkin’ Donuts right on the corner with cameras everywhere (I know this because I went inside and saw them for myself,) so I’ll just let that marinate for a second.
Yemen posted a selfie of himself laying in his hospital bed with a caption that reads:

He also posted a few more videos, but then shortly deleted them right after. He captioned them:

The fact that he completely removed anything “Coke Boy” related from his IG is making the story 10x more fishy. If you look at his Instagram comments, 80% of them are just BASHING Yemen, blaming him for what occurred. However, nobody will really know what happened until the truth finally comes to the light, which I pray it does.Chinx’s funeral and wake will take place this Tuesday and donations can be made here.

We may never find out what happened, although I hope the truth comes to light, but we must understand that what we glorify will find us. There is life and death in the tongue and what we must be careful of what we speak. Maybe he removed “Coke Boy” from his IG because what he realizes that what he glorifies is nothing to play with. You can act like you are from the streets and be tough, glorify violence and drugs, but when you almost lose your life it should make you realize that while you rap about it there are people that will literally take your life and laugh about it later.
It may have been jealousy, envy, bitterness, hate, an old beef, whoever he robbed years ago (he spent 5 years in prison for robbery and drug possession) or some recent beef he had with someone that he never told anyone else about. Not sure, but he didn’t deserve it. No child of God does. I just pray that God will be with his family and help them make it through this and all the days ahead. I also pray that Chinx had a relationship with God and that he is with God and has ultimate peace from this crazy world. That’s all we can do now is pray. Rest in peace Lionel Pickens.
