NBA: Playoffs-Miami Heat at Boston Celtics

Jeff Van Gundy, who last coached the Houston Rockets more than 10 years ago, is reportedly interested in the New Orlean Pelicans head coaching job. Monty Williams was fired at the end of season, even after he lead the young Pelicans team to the playoffs during a season that saw the roster face an array of injuries.

Jeff Van Gundy has become a favorite of fans with his great insight and quirky personality, providing great analysis, constantly showing his wits and coaching chops while calling the game. It looks like Van Gundy is ready to to bring his talents back to the sideline and what better team then the Pelicans, who have the blossoming superstar Anthony Davis and a capable roster around Davis with Tyreke Evans and Jrue Holliday.

Van Gundy is known to Knick fans for leading the magical 1999 run to the finals, where the knicks lost to the powerhouse San Antonio Spurs.

Van Gundy has shown interest in head coaching vacancies in the past, but has chosen time and time again to keep his chair in the booth, instead.
