Authorities claim that 28 year-old Sandra Bland took her own life while being held in a Texas jail cell. Family and friends of Bland are searching for answers and challenging the ruling claiming, the woman was mentally healthy and would never commit suicide. Sandra was arrested Friday for allegedly assaulting a police officer during a routine traffic stop.

According to Waller County Sheriff Glenn Smith, Sandra Bland was found dead in her jail cell from “self-inflicted asphyxiation.” According to the autopsy preformed by Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences her death was ruled a suicide.
Bland’s friends and family are challenging this information claiming she would never kill herself and was excited to start a new job at her alma mater Prairie View A&M. Her mysterious death has sparked hashtags such as #JusticeForSandy and #WhatHappenedToSandyBland as numbers of loved ones and supports demand answers as to what happened to the woman.
The district attorney for Waller County admitted the circumstances surrounding her death were conflicting. He said,”I will admit it’s strange that someone who has apparently seemed to have everything going her way would have taken her own life,” he added “And that’s why it’s very, very important that a thorough investigation is done and that we get a good picture of what Miss Bland was going through the last four, five days of her life.”
Starting off that picture is the video captured by a bystander of Bland’s arrest. She was pulled over by a state trooper for failing to use her directional signals. The traffic stop turned into a violent scene, captured below. In the tape you can hear Sandy saying, “You just slammed my head into the ground. Do you not even care about that? I can’t even hear!”
According to police Bland was last seen in her jail cell on Monday around 7 a.m. Two hours later she was found dead. Officials say they gave her CPR and medics were called but she was already dead.
Questions are still circling about her death and police are still investigating. Friend Lavaghn Mosely said, “She was planning for the future, and she came here to start for that future, so to say that she killed herself is totally absurd.”

They killed her. She probably died from head injury’s. No way she killed herself. They never got her any medical help when she complained that she could hear because they slammed her into the ground! The police killed her! The family needs to get a lawyer. They killed her.
