Say it ain’t so! After 17 years of marriage, Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith are calling it quits. The couple are allegedly ending their marriage with a major divorce deal. Hit the jump for more.
Divorce rumors have been swirling around Will and Jada for the past two years now, however the couple have maintained a untied front through it all. However, now after 17 years the couple are getting divorce and doing it with a $240 million divorce settlement. The deal is supposed to be a huge secret, but the insider reveals, “For Will and Jada, holding it together these past few years has been tough because their marriage has been on life support for a long time,” they continued, “They’re exhausted from trying to maintain the façade of a happy union,” adding, “They’ve decided to pull the plug in a carefully choreographed manner, [and] agree announcing their split at the end of the summer is the right move.”
The spilt does not come as a huge surprise, the couple has been hinting that their marriage was suffering for a while now. In an interview with Howard Stern Pinkett-Smith made comments like “I’m not his watcher. He’s a grown man,” when asked about the rumors that Will had stepped out on the marriage. Will had also told a reporter that their marriage had “died” and has been spotted out without his wedding band.
Another insider also said, “They’re already moving on with their lives. All that’s left is the inking of the divorce papers.”
