While in Las Vegas earlier this year, The Weeknd was arrested after punching a cop in the head while reportedly trying to break up a separate fight. Appearing in court yesterday, the XO singer pled no contest to the charge (“battery of a protected person”), and will now avoid jail time.

He was ordered to pay $1,000 to an injured cop fund, complete anger management and an alcohol evaluation, and complete 50 hours of community service. He will do the hours at a non-profit group back home in Canada.

If he meets all requirements – and avoids any more trouble – the case will be dismissed. Be on your best behavior, Abel!
