Erykah Badu stepped back into the spotlight not too long ago, to give us her spin on Drake’s hit record ‘Hotline Bling.’ Its been five years since her last album New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh), however the ‘Hotline Bling Remix’ seems to have inspired Ms. Badu because it was released along with the promise of a mixtape in the works.
In a recent interview with Noisey, Erykah Badu revealed that not only is the mixtape, But You Caint Use My Phone in the works but it will be dropping sometime next week! Hit the jump for more.
Erykah Badu reveals that she was inspired to get back in the studio after hearing Drake’s “Hotline Bling.” She also dished that although its been over a year since she’s put out anything new she been writing. She said,
“I’m writing all the time, but recently I got the bug back. When it comes, it comes, and I can’t force it, but recently I got it back with “Hotline Bling” and all the other things I’ve been experimenting with.”
