According to online reports, Champion’s father says that his son did not know of his girlfriend’s actual sex, but police say that is a lie. Champion was arrested after police found text messages between him and the victim planning to meet up on the day of the murder.

It’s good to see that the new law protecting transgenders from the “panic defense” is doing it’s job. It’s just so difficult to believe that someone can officially date someone have no clue what so ever of his/her biological sex. This is not to say that it is impossible because we’ve seen some good work done, BUT in this case the victim kept all of his masculine features and Champion should be held 100% responsible for his crime.
