North Korea has executed army chief Ri Yong-Gil. It has been reported that he has been killed due to corruption and “factional conspiracy.”
Last week there was a meeting in which officials discussed how they would deal with corruption. No one’s name was mentioned but they did happen to criticize “the practices of seeking privileges, misuse of authority… and bureaucratism manifested in the party”.
