In April 2014, 219 girls were kidnapped from a Nigerian boarding school by the Islamic militant group Boko Haram. BBC News reports that the first girl was found today, rescued in the Sambisa Forest of northeast Nigeria by the Civilian Joint Task Force.

The Nigerian Army released a statement saying the girl is Falmata Mbalala, but Nigerian chartered accountant Obiageli Ezekwesili says the girl was Amina Ali Nkek.

Right now, there are conflicting reports, but what is confirmed is that 19-year-old Amina was found with a baby. Sahara Reporters also reported that she was found with a husband from Boko Haram, and that she said the other girls were either killed or married off to Boko Haram members.

Let’s hope this leads to finding more girls soon! #BringBackOurGirls!
