Don’t even know what to say at this point…why are cops just shooting people at will? This lady stole a car…last time I checked that doesn’t call for murder.
According to ABC, a police officer shot once and fatally killed an unarmed 27-year old black woman who was behind the wheel of a stolen car that was in an accident. The woman was shot once and pronounced dead at the hospital. She reportedly crashed the car into a truck after attempting to drive off when police spotted the stolen vehicle parked in the Bayview section of San Francisco. As several San Francisco Police Department officers tried to pull the woman from the vehicle, one officer reportedly fired a single shot into the car.
San Francisco Police Chief Greg Suhr was forced to resign by San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee. Lee announced Suhr’s resignation at a press conference below and revealed he would be replacing him with the department’s current Deputy Chief Toney Chaplin.
“Though the facts are still emerging, we know that, this morning, a young woman of color was killed in an officer-involved shooting in the Bayview District. These officer-involved shootings, justified or not, have forced our city to open its eyes to questions of when and how police use lethal force. For the last many months, every day, I have asked myself, ‘Is the path to reform best advanced by our current Department leadership?'”
