The first week numbers are in for Kid Cudi’s sixth studio album as well as Gucci Mane’s third this year alone.
In their first week of release, Cudi’s Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’ did 47,736 sales plus streaming, while Gucci’s The Return of East Atlanta Santa did 33,198 SPS, according to HDD.
That’s better for Cudi because his last album, 2015’s critically panned Speedin’ Bullet 2 Heaven, only did 19,365 in it’s first week. As for Gucci, things are looking a little down as he continues to maybe oversaturate the market a little bit? Because his July album Everybody Looking did 68K first week.
The Weeknd’s Starboy and J. Cole’s 4 Your Eyes Only also had an interesting bout for the top…
Cole did have the bigger opening week, 511K vs. 366K, but Abel did more last week with 100,320 vs. Cole’s 91,055. Although Weeknd’s album has been out for 3 weeks compared to Cole’s 2.
Grammy’s ’18 are gonna be fun.
