Waka Flocka Says Gucci Mane Did Not Launch His Career

Waka Flocka and Gucci Mane used to be close, with Gucci often being credited for “putting Waka on.” It was Gucci’s records back in the late 00’s/early 10’s that we first heard of Waka, but Waka is not here for people saying that his career is due to La Flare. The pair have been beefing for some time now, and Waka even released a diss track to Gucci just last week called “Was My Dawg.” People are coming at Waka for “going so hard” on someone that launched his career, so he’s setting the record straight in a new clip for TMZ – Gucci didn’t put him on, it was Waka’s own mother who did. Get the details below.

Gucci Mane Launches A New Imprint & Announces His First Artist

Gucci Mane is not only dropping tons of music of his own, but he’s also putting other artists on as well. Taking to Instagram last night, the Atlanta rapper announced his new imprint 1017Eskimo Records, and revealed that the first signee is fellow ATL rapper, Ralo. Gucci previously signed artists like Waka Flocka, OJ Da Juiceman and more to his previous 1017 Records imprint and saw success, so I’m interested to see where this goes! Congrats to both Gucci and Ralo on the new endeavor!

(Photo) Nicki Minaj & Gucci Mane Officially Reunite!

Gucci Mane and Nicki Minaj were tight in the late 00’s, after Nicki had signed on to the same management company that Gucci was on, Mizay Entertainment. (Mizay is ran by Debra Antney, the mother of Waka Flocka.) The pair often collaborated on songs together, but as Nicki’s star was rising and Gucci found himself in and out of jail, the pair appeared to lose contact. In 2013, Gucci even dissed Nicki in a bizarre Twitter rant, which we later found out was the result of a drug binge he’d later fix while in a lengthy jail bid. Upon his release in 2016, Gucci sat down with our very own Funk Flex and revealed he hadn’t been in contact with Nicki since, but it’s clearly all water under the bridge now!

Gucci Mane has a LENGTHY rap sheet of beefs over the course of his career, but he’s managed to steer clear of any issues since his release from his prison bid last spring. While most of his beefs have simmered over the years, there are still some that are outstanding – Waka Flocka, Nicki Minaj – but one name that can be crossed off that list now is Rocko!
