Album Sales Week Ending 3/28/11…Chris Brown Scores First Number One, Jennifer Hudson Has Great Debut

Congrats, Breezy! Amidst the drama and everything else, he pulled through it all with his FIRST number one album! Dope!! Chris sold a total of 270,000 albums, securing that number 1 spot for the debut of his latest album, F.A.M.E. Jennifer Hudson scored the number 2 position with the debut of her sophomore album “I Remember Me”, selling 165k units. Congrats to her as well! Adele’s “21,” takes number 3 with 96k. A lot of great first-week sales this week! Besides Chris and J. Hud, The Strokes’ “Angles” debuted at 4 with 89k, while Kirk Franklin’s “Hello Fear” rounded out the top 5, debuting with 87k. At number 6, the digital-exclusive charity compilation “Songs for Japan” (featuring Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Bon Jovi and more) amassed 68,000 units. Glad to see people supporting a great cause! Panic at the Disco’s “Vices & Virtues” landed at 7 with 56k, Mumford & Sons’ “Sigh No More” took 8 with 39,000, and Bobby V’s “Fly on the Wall” debuted with 38k. Last but not least Lupe Fiasco’s “Lasers” took in another 29k, landing the number 10 spot. Wow, 7 out of 10 albums this week in the top 10 were brand new! Nice! @MarisaMendez
