Â Normally, NBA free agent negotiations begin in early July, with actual free agent signings beginning a week or two later, but due to the NBA lockout, which began July 1, negotiations and signings were delayed. Â With a tentative agreement in place, once the votes are taken and papers are signed teams will have a substantially short amount of time to sign free agents. Thomas limped into the locker room with 22 seconds remaining in the first half after falling over defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul as the duo was pressuring Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler.
