Protests In London Turn Violent
Protests in Tottenham, north London took a violent turn yesterday and continued into last night. The riots began after a man was shot down by police officers. 26 police officers were injured during the riot, eight of which required hospital visits. Hundreds of people gathered near the police station on Tottenham High Road to take part in the protests that soon became riots. Two police cars, a police van and a double-decker bus were set on fire and stores along the road were looted and vandalized.
