We all waited on the verdict in the Tamir Rice story where a cop shot the 12-year-old boy after assuming his toy gun was a real one. To no surprise, the court decided not to indict the officer that shot Tamir Rice just a few seconds after arriving on scene. The world was outraged with this verdict as these stories are becoming the norm. The mother of Tamir Rice has spoken out on how she felt after hearing the verdict.

Yesterday civil rights activists started the hashtag #NoJusticeNoLebron, a movement asking LeBron James to sit out until there’s justice for Tamir Rice, the 12-year old boy who was killed by two Cleveland police officers for having a fake gun.  Later on Tuesday night, James spoke publicly on the matter.

Outrage and disappointment spread yesterday after it was announced the grand jury decided the two Cleveland officers will not face charges for killing 12-year old Tamir Rice.  Activists are looking for the best way to keep their fight alive and are now turning to Ohio’s biggest star, LeBron James.


Cleveland Officer Will NOT Face Charges In Tamir Rice Shooting

It’s been over a year since the shooting death of 12 year-old Tamir Rice and Monday (December 28th) an Ohio grand jury has decided that the officer involved in the incident will not face charges. The decision came after a drawn out investigation, that concluded the shooting was “reasonable” as the officer who killed Tamir Rice, while he was holding a toy gun, believed he was facing a threat. Prosecutor Tim McGinty, spoke about the grand jury’s decision and called what happened to Tamir Rice and his family “absolute tragedy.” He continued, “But it was not, by the law that binds us, a crime.” Read more below.


Officer Involved In Tamir Rice Shooting Releases Statement: “I Saw The Weapon In His Hands”

Back in October, Cuyahoga County prosecutors announced that experts, Kimberly A. Crawford, Supervisory Special Agent of the FBI and S. Lamar Sims, Senior Chief Deputy District Attorney in Denver, found the shooting death of Tamir Rice, 12, was “objectively reasonable.” Here we are in December, and the investigation continues to roll on with the looks of things swaying in the officers’ favor. Prosecutor Timothy McGinty reveals that the next step in the legal process is for the grand jury to decide whether or not to charge the two officers involved; Officer Timothy Loehmann, the actual shooter, and Frank Garmback, and officer in training. “The investigation is continuing and ultimately the grand jury will make its decision based on all the evidence,” McGinty said in a statement Tuesday.
