(Videos) IFWT Celebrates The 15th Anniversary Of Big Pun’s Capital Punishment

Today marks the 15th anniversary of the release of Big Pun’s debut and classic album, Capital Punishment. There’s no doubting that this album set the tone for Pun’s short but legendary career. The album peaked at #5 Billboard 200 charts and #1 on the Top R&B Albums chart for two weeks, was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 1999 Grammys, and was the first Latin hip hop record to go platinum. Sadly, this album was the only album released before Pun’s untimely death. Watch an interview with Pun about the album and some music videos from Capital Punishment below. RIP, Big Pun!

(Audio) N.O.R.E. Says That He Still Speaks To Big Pun Spiritually ??? And He Brings Up Cuban Link

This was some real truth talking. The “Tadow” artist talks about the gap between today’s younger generation and his back in the day generation. He understands the bridgged gap between the two, which is why they are going at each others’ heads. “It’s our fault. Back then we was scared to get our a** beat, but it happened. Now, no one’s preaching that.” Truth serum. NORE brings up the situation between the whole ex Terror Squad crew i.e., Fat Joe, Big Pun, and Cuban Link. He calls Big Pun his brother and says that, “I’m naive to think that I can be the one to squash some beef.” He even talked to Cuban Link and asked him does he think that what went on with him and Fat Joe be squashed. “NO,” was the response. The “What What” rapper also mentions how he speaks to his old pal Big Pun spiritually. OK. Drop down bottom for more on what’s happening with Noreaga.

(Video) “What What” Trailer Shows Famous Rappers Before They Made It Big

Big Pun, Diddy, Eminem, Fat Joe, Jay-Z, Nas, Juelz Santana, Cam’Ron, Irv Gotti, 50 Cent, B-Real, KRS One, Pastor Troy, Busta Rhymes and countless others all took place in Noreaga’s What What project back in the ’90s. The documentary was scrapped for some reason, but the eight minute trailer still exists. The quality of the trailer is a bit rough (I mean it is from the 90’s) but it’s so crazy to see all of these names in one trailer and how these young stars have grown to be the names in hip hop they are today. It’s great to look back on the hip hop we all know and love. Hopefully something will come of the entire documentary, but for now check out the trailer below. Warning there is some nudity in the video.
