After being with BMI for a little while now, Drake has signed a deal with ASCAP – American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers. The organizations VP of Rhythm & Soul Membership, Nicole George-Middleton informed Billboard Drake would be joining them along-side his friend Noah “40” Shebib, who also was previously signed to BMI. “This new addition only strengthens ASCAP’s reputation as home to the world’s greatest songwriters. We can’t wait to see what’s to come for Drake in the future,” said ASCAP EVP of Membership Randy Grimmett. Drop down bottom to see what Drizzy had to say about the move.

BMI held their annual “How I Wrote That Song” event in Los Angeles yesterday. A Pannel featuring Snoop Lion, B.o.B., Busta Rhymes, Evan Bogart, who co-wrote Beyonce’s Halo, and Luke Laird a hit song writer of country music, was moderated by BMI’s vice president Catherine Brewton. Those lucky enough to attend got insight on how these successful musicians do what they do, explaining how they wrote, produced, and performed some of their greatest hits.
