What does one millionaire get another millionaire for their birthday? An 11-acre heart-shaped island just outside of NYC for a cool $19.7 mil! That’s exactly what Angelina Jolie got her beau Brad Pitt for his upcoming 50th birthday on December 18th. “As soon as Angelina heard the island was on the market she arranged a viewing — she was really impressed,” a source told the UK Mirror. “The house is perfect for romantic getaways or as a family retreat. It’s very private. And Angelina knows the fact the island is in the shape of a heart will mean so much to him.” The island includes two homes designed by famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright; and a helicopter pad for residents.

’12 Years A Slave’ is the true story of a freed New Yorker Solomon Northup, who was kidnaped and sold into slavery. Northup, played by actor Chiwetel Ejiofor, was tricked into playing a violin gig in a borderline state during slavery and was kidnapped by the alleged promoters of the event. Once in the south, the freed New Yorker was stripped of his identity and sold into slavery, where he remain a slave for 12 years in Louisiana. I think this movie sends a very strong message to people of every race. It provides a true look at America’s past, an understanding to our new generation of their ancestors, and an answer the root of disfunction in our society. The film got an emotional reception as audience members fought back tears during the intense film.
