(Video) NFL: RG3 On Being Named Browns’ Starter: ‘Those that don’t give up end up winning in the end’

This upcoming NFL season is the time for Robert Griffin III to prove himself.  He had a breakout rookie year with the Washington Redskins, he set records for highest passer rating by a rookie quarterback (102.4) and highest touchdown to interception ratio (4:1).  He also won the Offensive Rookie of the Year award and took the Redskins to the playoffs.  Things went downhill afterwards.  Griffin tore his ACL and LCL; he began to play in less games, was then demoted to second and third string before not playing at all in the 2015-16 season after which he was cut by the Redskins.  He eventually signed with the Cleveland Browns and today they announced that he won the battle over Josh McCown to become the starting quarterback for the upcoming season.

NFL: Browns Owner Jimmy Haslam: ‘We could win four or five games and feel good’

The Cleveland Browns have a long history of dysfunction and losing.  Though Jimmy Haslam just bought the team in 2012, a lot has happened in that short period of time to add to the Browns’ woes.  They have had four consecutive losing seasons, the worst came last season where they only won three games.  That led to a housecleaning in the front office and on the coaching staff (again), they have a new quarterback (again), and are rebuilding (again).  With that, it’s understood it’ll take time before the team has a winning season.
