SMH, it is sad this is the age we live in now where the value of material things conquers all. Yesterday Russell Westbrook and his long time girlfriend got engaged and the pics were all over social media. Reports said the ring cost about $700,000, which is about the cost of a few very nice houses. Apparently that wasn’t good enough for Laura Govan, who is with retired NBA player Gilbert Arenas. She even downplayed the ring just cause of the cost and said it needs to be a million or better and she was serious! What happened to the love being the focus of an engagement with a nice ring? While many people are supportive of civil right’s activist Al Sharpton’s acts to help the black community, many see him as an opportunist who jumps on every major injustice to get his face out there. Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas is part of the latter. Following the deaths of Mike Brown and Eric Garner at the hands of the police, Arenas called out Sharpton calling him a “coon” and “thot”. When asked about the comments Sharpton wasn’t familiar with who Arenas was and said using those terms says more about Arenas than himself. Well Arenas took to his Instagram account again to address what his real issue with Sharpton is.

Govan, who is the fiance of retired NBA player Gilbert Arenas was playing in a celebrity softball game last week when Ray J straight ran through her during a play, sending her tumbling to the ground. Apparently she wasn’t a big fan of that and had something to say to Ray. It did earn her a new nickname from Gilbert though.
