Kevin Durant and Draymond Green got extra time to get closer as they both won gold medals as part of Team USA’s men’s basketball team.  The duo are now teammates on the Golden State Warriors, and Durant is clearly loving his new team.  The Warriors played the Los Angeles Lakers in a preseason game at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday.  The Dubs won the game, 112-107 over the Lakers.  Durant and Green celebrated by partying with rapper Travis Scott at the Hakkasan Nightclub.

NBA: Draymond Green Rips Paul Pierce & Others For Criticizing Kevin Durant’s Decision

Draymond Green is tired of all the criticism Kevin Durant has received since becoming his teammate and fired back yesterday at those who have been talking too much. You already know how it goes. Everyone from sports media to barbershops to just your circle of friends has mentioned back in the day star players would never join forces like that, or people questioning KD’s competitive drive in general for joining a team that just beat him in the playoffs. The NBA season is almost in full swing and one major topic you’ll hear about ad nauseam is a media created feud between Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.  Durant chose the Golden State Warriors in free agency, leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder and his “brother” Westbrook behind.  Since Durant announced his decision, the media continually asks both KD and Westbrook about each other. Warriors CEO Joe Lacob brought Durant and Andre Iguodala with him for an awards ceremony for the team, and during the presser, Durant talked about why he chose the Warriors.

The Golden State Warriors organization was named the 2016 ENCORE winner on Monday night. It’s a prestigious award, given by the Stanford Graduate School of Business to the entrepreneurial company of the year. Past winners include Google, Apple and Twitter. This is the first time a sports organization has won it.  It was a big deal for the organization, so much so that majority owner Joe Lacob not only showed up to accept the award, but brought Bob Myers, Kevin Durant and Andre Iguodala with him.  During the ceremony, they each candidly answered questions about their Finals loss and getting Durant in free agency.

The Golden State Warriors were already considered a powerhouse team after winning an NBA championship and going an unprecedented  73-9 the next season, then they did something incredible, they signed Kevin Durant.  The former Oklahoma City Thunder star was the catch of the offseason and had many people already declaring the Warriors the next NBA champions.  The move of course did not go over well with the other NBA team owners.

NBA: Kevin Durant Says Warriors Finals Collapse Made Him Want to Join the Team

There’s been a lot of speculation as to why Kevin Durant chose the Golden State Warriors.  Ironically the Warriors and Durant’s former team, the Oklahoma City Thunder, both lost 3-1 leads in the playoffs earlier this year.  Durant, however, says the Warriors collapse is helped him choose them in free agency.
