NBA: During the 2011 Playoffs Before the Lakers Got Swept Phil Jackson Revealed He Had Prostate Cancer

Wow this is a pretty big revelation and explains more why Phil Jackson had to leave the Los Angeles Lakers.  In 2011 during the Lakers playoff series against the Dallas Mavericks, Jackson revealed to the team that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.  Read more after the jump.


NBA: Dwight Howard Will Reportedly Test Free Agency

Oh boy here we go again, the Dwight Howard media circus is entering year three.  The Lakers have already publicly announced that they would do everything they can to get Dwight to sign an extension with the team.  Based on the money the Lakers are able to offer plus other factors, it seemed like all signs pointed to Dwight remaining but with the Lakers recent downfall amongst other things, there’s new reports that Howard will test free agency.  Read more after the jump.


NBA: Spurs’ Tiago Splitter Out For Game 4 Against the Lakers

The injuries are piling up but luckily for Lakers fans it’s finally one on the other side.   The Spurs lost big man Tiago Splitter for the remainder of the series which could basically end tomorrow.  They hope to have him back for round two.  Read more after the jump.

NBA: Clippers Coach Vinny Del Negro Says the Lakers Have No Shot Against the Spurs

Many Laker fans are happy that they have to play the San Antonio Spurs and not the Oklahoma City Thunder.  They might be jumping the gun a bit considering how well the Spurs usually play in the playoffs.  When asked about the Lakers chances, Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro gave them no support.  Read more after the jump.

#Mambagifts #countonkobe.  Although he’s out with his injury, Kobe has been very active with the Lakers playoff process.  He made a promise that the Lakers would make the playoffs and he wanted to show his appreciation to his teammates for helping him fulfill that promise.  To do so he gave each of them brand new laptops.  Check it out after the jump.
