New York City and MSG are considered the Mecca of basketball, but we all know New York is the Mecca of hip hop as well. With that said, what other better way to set this night off than with a performance from one of the greatest ever, NAS!! Sure Christina Aguilera actually opened up the show, but once she introduced Nas she was pretty much forgotten about. Nothing like hearing “New York State of Mind” at an event that has the focus of the world right now. With the opening performance so dope, hopefully it’s a prelude to the rest of the night being amazing as well.


NBA: Michael Jordan & Hornets to Place Bid to Host 2017 or 2018 All-Star Game

Michael Jordan is working hard to turn around both the franchise and the market in Charlotte.  Getting back the Hornets name was one step, putting a competitive basketball team on the court that made the playoffs last season then went out and got Lance Stephenson this summer was the next.  Now he’s going after the All-Star Game.

I am sure we are all thinking this, but Mannie Fresh speaks from experience in his city. NBA All-Star weekend has become quite an event in the past 15 years from a party standpoint and with the parties and wealthy athletes come the women. And we aren’t talking about the type of women you bring home to mom. We are talking about the chicks looking for a come up. The chicks looking to catch a rich baller out there slipping to have a chance to get some of that NBA money by maybe getting pregnant or finding a way to bring a lawsuit. Now this can technically happen any day of the year, but it seems to be heightened during All-Star weekend. Checkout the advice Mannie has for the players.


NBA: John Wall Says The Wizards Have to Win In Order For Him to Be an All-Star

You have to be an exceptional player to be an All-Star coming from a losing team.  John Wall recognizes that and admits the Wizards need to do better in order for him to make it to the big game.  The young guard was given a 5-year, $80 million contract with Washington and is going to have to prove his worth.  Read more after the jump.
