Ne-Yo’s Girlfriend/Child’s Mother “Adopts” 48 African Children

I think the better term would be “sponsoring,” but either way it’s an amazing effort and I wish more people would follow her lead. It costs about $30 a month to sponsor a child in Africa and that money provides their living expenses. When Ne-Yo’s girlfriend Monyetta Shaw got a hold of the brochure given to her by “Football Wives” star Chanita Foster (whose charity it is), she couldn’t pick just one. Instead, she decided to sponsor all 48 children in Swaziland for about $20k a year. Ne-Yo definitely picked a winner! Marisa Mendez

Ne-Yo Named Senior VP of A&R of Motown Records

Not only has he parted ways with his former label Def Jam, his new label has named Ne-Yo the Senior VP of A&R. “I’m honored that I’ve been given such a prestigious title and trusted with such responsibility,” Ne-Yo said of the new position. “Terrified because I know that playing this role in the fashion of one of my career role models, Mr. Smokey Robinson — these are big shoes to fill. But trust, I can handle it.” Congrats! Marisa Mendez

(Video) Wale Brings Out Rick Ross, Miguel, Ne-Yo, French Montana and Meek Mill at @Hot97 NYC Show

Last night, Hot 97 and MySpace brought Wale to the Highline Ballroom in NYC, and the venue was packed to CAPACITY to see Mr. Folarin. Myself and fellow IFWT writer Caasi were in the building to see Flex tear the place down for a full hour on the 1’s and 2’s, while Miss Info held down the crowd on the mic. Of course the DC emcee brought his whole MMG family with him for starters, and he had quite a few surprise guests up his sleeve as well. “Ambition” collaborators Miguel and Ne-Yo graced the stage, as well as New York’s own French Montana to perform his street hit “Choppa, Choppa Down.” While Rozay didn’t actually touch the mic (wouldn’t want him over-exerting himself!), he amped the crowd the entire night with just his presence standing alongside his protege and cheering him on. And Meek Mill? Crowd…went…CRAY. That boy’s a star. Check out a montage of some of the best moments of the night below. Marisa Mendez
