NFL: Marshawn Lynch Signs New Contract With Seahawks Which Includes Huge Raise

The Seahawks star running back Marshawn Lynch, signed a two-year extension Friday after meeting with Seahawks officials, including team owner Paul Allen. The extension keeps him under contract with Seattle through the 2017 season, but more importantly includes a massive raise for the 2015 season, when he will make $12 million, according to agent Doug Hendrickson. Lynch was scheduled to make $7 million for the 2015 season. Hendrickson said the deal includes an additional $24 million for the 2016 and 2017 seasons should Lynch, 28, continue his career into his 30s.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Marshawn Lynch has agreed to stay in beast mode with the Seahawks and sign a new contract. There were reports Lynch was seriously considering retiring and he wasn’t really communicating with the team. After he did an interview in Turkey last week where he said he felt there possibly could have been a reason he didn’t get the ball to win the game in Super Bowl 49, it seemed the relationship may have been strained. Boxing: More Fights? Floyd Mayweather Already Thinking Of Extending Contract With Showtime

There have been alot of rumors surrounding the possible end of Floyd Mayweather’s career when his current deal with Showtime expires. The biggest deal of free agency this upcoming summer in the NBA is not Carmelo Anthony even though the media in New York will have you think that. It is Lebron James and he has been very quiet on the matter. He can opt out of his contract this summer, along with Chris Bosh & Dwyane Wade, but the focus of course is on Bron. Fans around the league have their own opinions about what he might do, including for some reason that he will return to Cleveland, but his teammates seem to think otherwise.


NFL: Bears Brandon Marshall Signs $30 Million Dollar Contract Live On The View

Forget press conference or press releases, Brandon Marshall went straight to live TV to sign his new deal. The pro bowl receiver from the the Chicago Bears signed a new 3 year/$30 million dollar extension this morning on ABC’s “The View” which will keep him with the Bears through the 2017 season. Marshall who has had his battles with mental health is also donating $1 million of that contract for mental health awareness. The biggest winner in this situation besides Marshall himself is the Bears and quarterback Jay Cutler. Keeping his talent on the field long term will allow the Bears to at least contend in the NFC north as well as for the playoffs overall. Hit the jump.


NFL: Richard Sherman Breaks The Bank With New Contract

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman just updated some new information to his website. Sherman just became the highest paid corner in the entire NFL with a new 4 year/$57.4 million dollar contract with $40 million of that guaranteed. Everyone knew this day was coming after his play the past couple season and his rookie contract expiring this season. Seattle wasn’t letting him even think about going anywhere else. Hit the jump.
