Congrats! Fetty Wap Signs Publishing Deal With Sony ATV

Not sure why it took so long (with his hit “Trap Queen” having been moving like hot cakes for nearly a year now,) but Fetty Wap has officially signed a publishing deal, and he’s gone with Sony ATV. “Today we welcome @fettywap1738 into the Sony ATV family!” the esteemed company wrote on Instagram over the weekend. “Congratulations Fetty Wap we are excited to work with you.” A pub deal is different and separate from a record deal, and is solely for songwriters to get paid off of what they write. Songwriting checks are INSANE, and this kind of deal is one of the first orders of business that should be handled for artists. I’m not 100% certain, but I do believe that they can retroactively pay artists too, so Fetty can collect on what he has made thus far on his songs available at retail. Congrats on the power moves! Keep showing the world how JERSEY does!

Jay-Z Has Signed Roc Nation To A Global Publishing Deal With WHO ???

“Big Pimpin’ much ??? Jay-Z signed himself as well as Roc Nation over to Warner/Chappell Music. So, now, Jigga man and Jon Platt are ‘partners’ if you’ll say, since he’s working for the company now. Warner/Chappell Music will have the right to past && future recordings. What do you think ??? Some are saying that this was the wrong move for Jigga to make and, there has to be some underlying motive. “Selling Out” or not? I think, ‘how much’ is what I really want to know. Drop down bottom for Jay’s statement.
