Yesterday afternoon, news broke that Jay-Z’s protege and flagship artist on his Roc Nation imprint debuted with huge numbers for his first album. “Cole World: The Sideline Story” sold 218k units, making it the number one album in the country. Jay gave Cole a feature for the record and obviously gave him his start by signing him and having him appear on the Blueprint 3 album, but other than that…there was no major push on Jay’s behalf. He tells Angie he remembers buying her album and Big Pun album at the same time and reflects on the feeling of the “Cold World: The Sideline Story” Finally droppping. Angie asks about the alleged sextape with Rihanna and if they are a couple. He puts the rumors to rest by announcing he has a girlfriend. Oh there is more, J. 2 NEW TRACKS: J. Cole – Neverland x Heavy
In keeping with his weekly series, Jermaine dropped not one but 2 new joints late last night for the interwebs to enjoy. Neither of these tracks will appear on the album (out in just a few weeks) but they’re dope! The first, “Neverland”, is produced by both Chase N. Cashe and Cole himself. The second, “Heavy,” is produced by Cole and is “not album material, but it’s HEAVY,” according to him. Check them out after the jump. Marisa Mendez

According to Cole, the remark was taken out of context from an interview that Cole did and Jay didn’t call his album a classic. Can you imagine how Cole felt hearing that his role model called his album a classic only to find out it was a mistake?!
